Born into a wealthy family, you had everything you could ever want, but you always felt like something was missing. You found solace in experimenting with different drugs, starting with mild herbs and eventually graduating to more potent substances. Soon, your addiction took over your life, and you found yourself spending all your time and money on getting your next fix.

Your addiction led to many reckless decisions, and you lost everything - your family, your friends, and your fortune. Desperate for money to support your habit, you turned to a life of crime, stealing and dealing drugs to make ends meet.

Your addiction has left you with a weakened constitution and a reputation as a unreliable and untrustworthy person. However, you've learned to be resourceful, cunning, and street-smart, and your knowledge of the drug trade and the criminal underworld could be valuable assets in your adventures.

Now, you seek redemption and a way to break free from your addiction. Perhaps joining a group of adventurers and working towards a greater cause could be the start of a new chapter in your life, or not.

You are acquainted with a network of drug addicts and bottom feeders who are willing to help you out of tight situations for the right price. While in a particular town, city, or other similarly sized community (DM’s discretion), you and your companions can stay for free in drug houses, or vacant houses that provide a wretched lifestyle. While staying at a drug houses, you can choose to keep your presence (and that of your companions) a secret.

In general, drug addicts value drugs, and schemes to acquire them. One could be a part of a larger organization, or might run a small drug operation of their own. Junkies have a natural ability to survive on the streets, and find an angle to work in any situation.
