You aren't a typical Warlock. Before you were about to make your pact with a Patron, your mentor was killed. Their essence revealed themselves to you in an odd color that seemed inviting to you. Before long, you ended up devouring the soul, just to experiment what would happen as you were always curious in nature. This unlocked your potential Warlock abilities and made them stronger than usual. Not ridiculously stronger, but after fighting other Warlocks, you realized they were stronger than average. However, this also made you a target.
Others called you an Abomination. Such a thing was completely unnatural to them and, as sad as it seemed, there would often be a bounty put on your head. So the fools that came to collect were almost never-ending.

Because you have the ability to devour the essence of dead or dying Warlocks, you are often hunted. While they may not know you are the target right away, they always eventually find you.
You can see the Essences of the dying or recently dead, Warlock or not. Every five (5) Warlock's essences/souls you devour, you can choose one (1) spell to learn/to cast fit to your level. At level 5, every five (5) Warlock souls you devour, alternatively, you can choose to turn one (1) learned spell into a cantrip.
Speak with your DM to discuss if the chosen spell's damage (if any) should be reduced.
Suggested Characteristics
"Abominations" who can devour other Warlocks' souls don't typically stay in one place for too long in order to avoid being hunted and try not to form attachments to others they meet.
