Located in the settlement of Towe, southwest of Mesym Keep, The Foundling Hospital gives the word “hospital” a different meaning, and in this case, it is actually an orphanage. Mothers would leave their children here that they could not or would not keep, and what put the hospital on the map was hopeful mothers, who intended to return one day for their children, would leave detailed, unique textile scraps with the child so she could later identify the child when they were older. Less than 1% of these mothers returned. A love for children is what founded and established this hospital, and is currently run by Sila, a moon elf female cleric from the West who has devoted her long life to the preservation of children.
You are one of the children that grew up sleeping in the rows of cot style beds, sharing the community coats and trading goods like mittens and shoes like they were money with the other children. The children outnumbered the staff immensely, and rarely were you given affection from adults-- most children developed family tendencies, taking the idea of "playing house" to a most literal term. All Foundling orphans can relate to each other, and rarely did true rivalries break out. Jealousy, of course, bubbled when someone other than you was adopted, but never malice.
Now an adult, you have been let out into the world with no family. You lived your whole childhood in the orphanage, your family and friends being one of the same. When you were sent out, you were given the textile piece your parents left behind, new traveling clothes, and a small sum of money as you entered the world alone. It was bittersweet, being virtually kicked from your home, but you know that your bed would be filled quickly by another child.

As stated above, Mothers would leave their children here that they could not or would not keep, and what put the hospital on the map was hopeful mothers, who intended to return one day for their children, would leave detailed, unique textile scraps with the child so she could later identify the child when they were older.

Due to your childhood situation, you never had a solid, traditional family, or a traditional place to call home. Now, as an adult, you realize that home is wherever you find yourself happy. With this feature, when you adopt a chosen family and a place to call your own, you will always awake feeling well rested, and will recover a point of exhaustion after a short rest instead of a long rest, when you are sleeping where your "home" is. Your home could be the literal sense of the word, but it could also be wherever you are comfortable and happy, or wherever your chosen family is.
