You spent your life helping someone who is higher than you in social standing. Perhaps you’re a lady/gentleman-in-waiting, royal cook, or part of the kitchen staff. Or, perhaps you spent most of the time before adventuring as a child, and stayed in the palace due to your parents having that role. 

Think about what sort of role you had in the palace, as well as your relationship with those you served. Were they harsh and controlling, strictly professional, or close friends?
