You woke up one day with your memory gone. You can't remember your name, where you came from, or even who your family was. All you know is that you woke up in an unfamiliar place with the following:
1. A new name, either written on a piece of paper or given to you by a mysterious figure who was with you when you woke up
2. The clothes on your back
3. 5 GP
4. A weird mark (a branding or a tattoo) on part of your body
You are now on a journey to figure out who you are, who you once were, and why your memory was lost. The world is a scary, new place, and it is up to you to navigate it with a blank slate.
- Skill Proficiencies: Due to traversing the unknown world alone, you gain proficiency in the Survival skill. However, due to your lost memory, you have disadvantage on History checks.
- Languages: You know two languages of your choice other than Common; these were the languages you knew before losing your memory, and you have retained this knowledge, for one reason or another.
You are haunted by mysterious shadow figures that you can't quite make out. You see them everywhere, even when others can't. At times, they look or sound familiar, but you can't quite place who or what they are. You were once frightened by these figures, but now all you want to know is their identity, and how they connect to your past. Due to these shadowy beings almost always being in your vision, not much scares you anymore.
