Exile Image

Exiled from your home for one reason or the other, you have become accustomed to life as one who is less then welcome. You've grown a knack for migrating from community to community, lodging when you can or opting to sleep in the outskirts of town, and you're adept at taking advantage of a situation when you can. Whether you were cast out from your home for a heinous act or falsely committed in a plot against you, you remain wary of those responsible. You are not above breaking a few rules if it means you will live to see another day.

Reasons for Departure

Reasons for exile range from dreadful crimes to false claims to banishment. Whatever the reason, consider how this will effect your characters outlook on their situation and the ones who put them in it. You can roll on the following table to determine your character's consequence for their wrongdoing or how they themselves were wronged, or choose one that best fits your character.

d6 Reasons for Departure
1 I committed a heinous act and thought I could get away with it. I was wrong.
2 They got the wrong person, I was framed for an act I didn't commit.
3 Someone saw me as a threat and decided to get rid of me.
4 One of my rivals went out to kill my social status.
5 Those of high-standing feared what I could become, so they cast me out before it was too late.
6 I had friends in high places, who protected me when I gained the ire of the law. They reduced my sentence to exile to protect me.

Feature: Wanderer

You have an excellent memory for maps and geography, and you can always recall the general layout of terrain, settlements, and other features around you. In addition, you can find food and fresh water for yourself and up to five other people each day, provided that the land offers berries, small game, water, and so forth.

Suggested Characteristics

You're primary objective is to keep a low profile and blend in as best as possible. As an exile, you never know how far your deeds precede you, so you tend to yourself and avoid the interest of the law. Ensuring your own survival is top priority, even if it means forgoing a task or objective, or abandoning someone.
