As a child, you were saved from tragedy and raised by Elves. While studying the teachings of your adoptive family, your latent talent in their arts was discovered. While not fully developed, they believe it will manifest after "overcoming yourself". You've trained, fought, and lived Elven, and the kindness shown to you drives your path forward to this day.
Choose an Elf race and work with your DM to detail the nature of your home village and your family's standing within it. Were you the adopted child of a family of High Elves? Or were you of normal social rank, working together with other Elves to make ends meet? Perhaps you were a hunter, tasked with putting food on the table.

- Tool Proficiencies: Poisoner's kit, herbalism kit
You are familiar with elven customs and their ways. You speak their tongue, know their crafts, and use mannerisms used by elves (Calling dwarves "cave dwellers", etc.). You're received with open arms should you visit your home village, and may seek a day's refuge with your parents if necessary (once per visit). You can travel through Elven lands freely, and may vouch for one ally should the need arise (once per visit). Should your ally betray that trust, a penalty will be assigned accordingly.
