These are people who fight the forces of magic and will stop at almost nothing to see it disappear, along with its users. Usually something bad happened to them, like they were attacked by a wicked witch when they were a kid or their father tried to sacrifice them with magic, and they hunt down users of magic so that no one else would go through that. Or they are just really bad people and want to see magic erased from history so that the only thing that matters is war prowess.
