Children of the devout, raised to serve the gods, raise to live for the gods, and raised to die for the gods. Many faiths exist, each unique in its own way, each seeking something, wether it be redemption, eternal life, or merely a glimpse of order in a world chaotic as the one we live in. They do this by worshiping, something, or someone, maybe even a subject as natural as a hurricane or fire holds a loyal group of followers. Throughout all religions however, there is but one constant. There are those who’ve either rejected the faith they were raised to uphold, or they were rejected by the mortals who made up their faith. As an Excommunicated member of a religious order, wether it be at your own hands, becoming a heretic to a faith you no longer believe in, or leaving a faith overcome by lairs and priest who seek personal power above all else, or casted aside by said faith, maybe for breaking a sacred oath for what you belive to be justifiable reasons, or simply falling out of favor with the wrong people, you no longer have a faith to call home. While your previous experiences with the god or gods of your faith have given you enough knowledge to last on your lonesome, you must find a new faith, or simply a new place you can call home, a new group to call family, or a new ideology you can strive to achieve.
- Skill Proficiencies: Skill Proficiencies: Religion, and one choice from Nature, Arcana, History, or Insight.
- Languages: Choose one language from either Celestial, Infernal, Sylvan, Primordial, Abyssal, or Draconic. This language must reflect upon your faith and what kind of being, event, or object it worshiped.
- Equipment: Equipment: A prayer wheel or other religious text dedicated to the faith you were excommunicated from, some kind of marking (such as an unremovable red cloth) that signifies you as excommunicated from your faith, torn vestments, a religious idol (such as a brass crucifix or gold chain) leather pouch, and 5gp.
While a roaring fire of religious loyalty had once grown inside of you, your excommunication poured water until your faithful fervor has grown into an ashy pulp. However, this death of faith has given you an inate insight into a persons true faith. When you make insight checks related to the subject of faith and religion, such as if you are trying to see if a priest is unfaithful, or if a heretic truly wishes to redeem themselves, you double your wisdom modifier for that role.
