Suggested Characteristics

It is both equally as likely that the raw magic you harbour gave you a rather estranged childhood as it is that many people flocked to you due to a natural enchanting charisma. The way your character's personality has developed is entirely up to you. However, should you be looking for inspiration; here are a few suggestions to aid you in creating a truly unique and versatile character:

d8 Personality Trait
1 I fervently study old tomes and scrolls, attempting to learn as much as I can about arcane power.
2 I can often sense when a bad thing is about to happen just before it does.
3 I view those without magic ability as lesser, and believe that those with magical ability have a divine right to rule.
4 I believe that it is my duty to use the magical power in my care for good, and protect those who are without such abilities.
5 I am prone to extreme mood swings that I can't explain.
6 I whisper to myself throughout the day, imagining possible conversations or arguments I may have.
7 I am horribly, horribly awkward in social situations.
8 I'm terrified of the power within me and wish to keep it dormant, but it erupts out of me at random times.
d6 Ideal
1 Knowledge. Gaining a better understanding of my magic will give me clarity and purpose. (Neutral)
2 Care. There is nothing more purifying for one's own soul than aiding someone in need. (Good)
3 Justice. I can use the magic within my very bones to punish the wretched and uplift the downtrodden. (Lawful)
4 Freedom. I want to utilise my gifts to shape my own destiny, unbound by the law, or what is expected of me. (Chaotic)
5 Power. The more I grow my arcane abilities, the closer I am to ascending to godhood. (Evil)
6 Self Discovery. I want to know why I was anointed with these powers, and I want to see myself reach my full potential. (Any)
d6 Bond
1 I have a mentor who first taught me how to tap into my magic. I owe them everything.
2 I have an ancient text that holds the key to a dark magic and it must not fall into the wrong hands.
3 My hidden powers as a child manifested my imaginary friend into the material plane. Now we travel the world together.
4 I have a small animal companion that only I can converse with.
5 I am a student at a prestigious magical academy and am on a mission to prove myself as a scholar of theirs.
6 I come from a family of great magic-wielders. I hope to make them proud.
d6 Flaw
1 I dive deep into all facets of my studies in arcana, even the dark arts.
2 I allow my pursuit of understanding to cloud my better judgement, and will sometimes throw those who have placed their trust in me under the bus if I think it will get me closer to unlocking more of my power.
3 Non-magical races are - in my opinion - made by the gods to be subservient to those with innate magical ability.
4 I am rarely able to stick to a plan, and often resort to flinging spells at people as my way to solve a conflict.
5 I steal items with vague magical essence. My need of them is greater than whoever owned it previously.
6 I am impatient when trying to learn a new spell, which often results in the magic blowing up in my face.
