Well **** someone did want you to die and rest, so they torture you to live. in your past life you had a wife or kids and you only cared to take care of them. But being an adventurer has gotten you killed. You wake up after a 24hr period of death and all wounds heal. Known to you the god you pissed off killes some else in the world to keep you alive. First it was your family.
