A Pirate is a master of the open sea, a swashbuckling rogue who wields a cutlass with one hand and a pistol with the other. The Pirate lives for adventure, treasure, and freedom, shunning the constraints of law and society. They are a force to be reckoned with on the high seas, with a reputation for cunning, agility, and ruthlessness.
A Privateer, on the other hand, is a Pirate with a commission. They are hired by a nation or a trade company to operate as a legal, but no less dangerous, force against enemy ships and coastal targets. Privateers are skilled sailors, sharpshooters, and navigators, who often work in groups or with a trusted crew.
As a Pirate/Privateer, you are a versatile adventurer who knows how to navigate stormy waters and board enemy ships. You rely on your wits, your weapons, and your allies to overcome any obstacle, whether it be a band of cutthroat pirates or a powerful navy fleet.
Your skills in climbing, swimming, and stealth make you a master of infiltration and sabotage, while your charm, deception, and intimidation make you a master of negotiations, alliances, and disguises. Your ability to improvise and adapt to changing circumstances makes you an indispensable member of any crew.
But beware, for the life of a Pirate/Privateer is a dangerous one. Your decisions will have consequences, both on the sea and on the land. The romance and thrill of the sea may seduce you, but it can also consume you and transform you into a notorious buccaneer or a hunted outlaw.
Choose your path wisely, and may the wind be always at your back

| D6 | Place in the crew |
|---|---|
| 1 | Captain. you are the master of the ship. Your word is your bond and is as good as the law. |
| 2 | First mate. You are used to being the second in command. You are the eyes, ears, and mouth of the captain. Loyalty is the most important thing to you. |
| 3 | Boarding party. You are the tip of the spear, you specialise in close combat and creating fear in your enemies. |
| 4 | Slave. You come from a low place in the world, doing all of the cleaning and maintenance onboard the ship. Nobody knows all the crooks and crannies of a ship like you do. |
| 5 | Cook. A hungry crew is a useless crew. You are a master at creating ship food that seems edible. |
| 6 | Ambassador. Every ship needs someone who can go on land or aboard other ships and be the public face of the crew. Someone who can look and seem trustworthy and law-abiding, that is you. You are a silver-tongued con-man. |
No matter where you go, people are afraid of you due to your reputation. When you are in a civilized settlement, you can get away with minor criminal offences, such as refusing to pay for food at a tavern or breaking down doors at a local shop, since most people will not report your activity to the authorities
