Cursed Image

You have been cursed by something so terrible that you dare not speak of it. You’ve tried to bury it and run away from it, to no avail. You tried to break the curse but whatever that ails you can't be healed by medicine or Cured with just any spell or potion. It must be banished with a forgotten spell or the Curser must revoke it. It might come to you as a shadow on the wall always hunting, a bloodcurdling nightmare that never leaves, a disgusting or disfiguring mark, or a demonic whisper in the dark beckoning you to join it. The burden has taken its toll, isolating you from most people and making you question your sanity. You must find a way to overcome it before it destroys you.

Skill Proficiencies: Choose two from among Arcana, Investigation, Religion, or Survival, and Medicine

Horrendous Event

Prior to becoming an adventurer, your path in life was defined by one dark moment or one fateful decision that ruined your life. Now you feel darkness threatening to consume you and those around you, and you fear there may be no hope of escape. Choose a cause for what has befallen upon you and the curse itself that haunts you, or roll one on the Horrendous Event table.(The curse cannot be broken by anything less than the Wish spell and/or any other method as decided by the DM)

d4 Horrendous Event
1 You were born under a dark star. You can feel it watching you, coldly and distantly. Sometimes it beckons you in the dead of night. Anytime you take a long rest you must make a DC 10 INT saving throw, on a fail you suffer horrendous nightmares and suffer a point of exhaustion
2 An apparition that has haunted your family for generations now haunts you. You don’t know what it wants, and it won’t leave you alone. The character is stalked by the apparition, who simply follows him, saying nothing, always staring. No one else can see the apparition. You feel it beckoning you to kill. At any moment at the DM's discretion the Character must make a DC 14 Wisdom save or you feel must to attack the nearest creature
3 A hag kidnapped and raised you. You escaped, but the hag still has a magical hold over you and fills your mind with evil thoughts. Anytime a spell is cast within 10ft of the Character roll on the Wild Magic table
4 You opened an eldritch tome and saw things unfit for a sane mind. You burned the book, but its words and images are burned into your psyche and you feel as if it took years off your life. Your Character will die within 15 years of obtaining the Curse unless it is broken.

Feature: Voices in the Dark

You suffer a curse as defined by your Horrendous Event, but it has more to it than meets the eye. The curse forces you to hear the screams, final words, and voices of those who have died in the surrounding area. You have learned how to tune the voices out and manipulate them to listen and talk to specific souls, but sometimes they are too much to bear. You can make a DC 10 Wisdom saving throw, on a success you can cast Speak with Dead, without expending a spell slot or using material or somatic components. On a failure, the Voices become too loud and you take 2d4 psychic damage and you cannot use this ability until the next long rest. Each time you use this ability the DC increase by 5, and resets on a long rest.
