The Under Deep, the subterranean tunnel system under the wasteland continent The Deep Regions and other parts of the world Darkblade, is riddled with tunnels, caverns, and crevasses. You were trained by a legendary explorer, such as the half-mad Spelunker Cheen, to chart and map the tunnels, as well as guide others through. You are accustomed to roughing it and often aren’t seen for weeks.
Who was your trainer? Were they a legendary and retired explorer, an only slightly more experienced friend, or a hermit-like loner who rescued you from peril? When did you decide that adventuring was a better use of your training than scouting? What was your greatest find or most successful mission, as well as a failure you’d prefer to keep hidden?

You were trained by a well-known explorer and you likely met their friends and contacts. All sorts of explorers, scouts, and outlanders recognize names you know, or at least your explorer bearing. They’ll share tips and tricks about the nearby wilderness and are willing to trade with you. They might offer to guide you in an area unfamiliar to you, but they won’t go to dangerous areas. They might know potential locations of dangerous locales, but usually don’t know the exact location of shipwrecks, tombs, or similar places.
