As a Spiritwalker, you possess a unique connection to the ethereal realm, enabling you to shift between the mortal plane and the ghostly world. Your journey into this mysterious existence has granted you spectral abilities, allowing you to harness the powers of invisibility and phasing through solid matter. However, the delicate balance between these realms comes with its own set of challenges, and your attempts to command these ghostly powers are not always guaranteed success.
- Skill Proficiencies: Skill Proficiencies: Stealth, Arcana
- Tool Proficiencies: Tool Proficiencies: One type of artisan's tools of your choice
- Languages:
Languages: Two of your choice
- Equipment:
Equipment: A set of artisan's tools (of your choice), a hooded cloak, a journal, a quill, a vial of ink, a small knife, and a pouch containing 10 gold pieces.
Your connection with the ethereal realm allows you to don an ethereal veil, enabling you to seamlessly blend into the ghostly plane. As a bonus action, you can activate your Ethereal Veil, gaining the following benefits:
-
Invisibility: While under the effects of your Ethereal Veil, you can turn invisible at will. This effect lasts for a number of minutes equal to your proficiency bonus, or until you take an action, reaction, attack, or cast a spell.
-
Ethereal Passage: While ethereal, you may attempt to phase through solid objects. When you wish to move through a wall, door, or any other physical barrier, you must make a DC 15 Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) check. Succeeding allows you to pass through the obstacle unhindered. Failing the check results in 2d6 force damage, and your ethereal form disperses, returning you to your corporeal state.
Spectral Strain
Your manipulation of spectral powers carries inherent risks. Every time you employ your ghostly abilities, you run the chance of straining your physical form and losing control over your ethereal gifts. When you attempt to activate your spectral abilities, roll a d20. On a roll of 1 or 2, you experience Spectral Strain. The specific consequences are determined by the DM and may include temporary hit point loss, exhaustion, or attracting attention from otherworldly entities.
Additionally, while in your ethereal form, you are susceptible to spells and effects that target creatures from the Ethereal Plane.
