You may not be the strongest, bravest, or smartest of the party, but you can make the people think you are, and isn't that what really maters? You come from a town where you were not content with the powers in place. You took it upon yourself to create change, and honed your silver tongue in politics. You earned the people's love, and now go out to find... something else.

Skill Proficiencies: Choose one, Persuasion or Deception
Languages: Choose one language feasibly spoken in your hometown (Dwarvish, Elvish, Gnomish, Halfling, or Orc)
Equipment: an inkwell, 5 pieces of parchment, 2 quills, a money pouch, and a backpack

Political Ideal

You are, at your core, a man of policy. You have to stand steady in your beliefs, so that you can lead your people to said ideals. You built your hometown from the ground up, and imprinted your mark on its laws. Chose or roll one of the following.

d8 Political Ideal
1 The purpose of government is to help its citizens.
2 Perhaps it would be best if I was a dictator.
3 Things used to be better, we should avoid change if possible.
4 There is a reason society is segmented into groups and classes.
5 Every man deserves to stand on an equal foot.
6 The best thing a man can do is serve in the military.
7 Men must fight for the ability to hold power.
8 There are no higher virtues than freedom and liberty

Feature: Practiced Orator

You made your living rabble-rousing and moving crowds. There is something about the crowd mentality you can tap into to aid your eloquence. You have advantage on persuasion, deception, and performance roles against non-hostile groups of 5 or more individuals.

Suggested Characteristics

Your life's work has been speaking. However, your life's goal has been leadership. You have the mentality of a leader, or at least what you think such a mentality ought to be. This has its ups and downs, and can make you quite the irritating companion at times. But you try, and you often do work magic with your silver tongue, as much as many around you hate to admit it.

d8 Personality Trait
1 I think of people by what they do, not what they say they can do.
2 I expect much from those I command, and am easily disappointed in my allies, should they fail my standards.
3 I am used to leadership, and do not take well to being outclassed or ordered.
4 I hold my political Ideal above all else, and am often blind to reason when it comes to matters conflicting with my ideals
5 I have earned the comforts of the intellectual, and i'll damn well enjoy them.
6 As much as I enjoyed my hometown, I always felt as if it wasn't quite enough for me. I need more.
7 I am, all in all, a forgiving and lenient person. The first time. After that, don't let me see your face.
8 I cannot get enough of the city! All the people, places, and things are what drive me, not some damp cave.
d6 Ideal
1 Loyalty- Those who i travel with must be those I trust implicitly. My allies owe me loyalty, just as I owe them such. (Neutral)
2 Self Governance- Power is derived from the people, and, personally, no ruler will gain power from me! (Chaotic)
3 Leadership- My party is my responsibility, and I owe to them my skills. Their error is my fault. (Lawful)
4 Power- I have risen this far in the world, but my eyes must be set farther, at any cost. (Evil)
5 Benevolence- I know what a cruel leader looks like, and I seek to become the opposite of him/her (good)
6 Reality- We must play with the hand we are dealt, and mine is that of leader. (Neutral)
d6 Bond
1 I made a mistake in my hometown that cost dearly. I must make amends, somehow.
2 In my leading and speaking, I left behind someone dear, and regret it to this day.
3 I never finished my work at home, i was... interrupted. But I intend to retry, someday.
4 A relative/friend of the man/woman I overthrew is still in power elsewhere, and I intend to fix that.
5 My loyalty will always lie with my people, regardless of time or distance
6 I seek to spread my political Ideal to every city, town, farm, and kingdom I come across in my travels.
d6 Flaw
1 I'm constantly confident in my ability to talk my way out, even when it seems impossible.
2 The sound of my own voice is music to my ears.
3 While I am an advocate of violence, I rarely partake in it myself.
4 I have some speech impairment, which I have struggled to suppress. It often comes out in times of stress, danger, or emotion.
5 I still retain my revolutionary zeal, though the battle is already won.
6 I will not bow or kneel to any man, god, or idea. [enter race here] were meant to stand!
