Divine Emissary Image

In the world of Aylor, where divine influence shapes the very fabric of existence, being chosen as a Divine Emissary is a destiny of great significance. At the beginning of each new age, one of the twelve gods chooses an emissary, an individual imbued with a fragment of their divine power, to descend from the Divine Plane and act as their eyes, voice, and hand in the mortal world. As a Divine Emissary, you represent your god's interests, deliver their divine decrees, and enforce their will. You are not merely a priest or acolyte, but the direct extension of a god's influence, moving among mortals with a divine mandate.

Your role can be a blessing and a curse. The divine authority you carry ensures respect and influence, but it also invites challenges from skeptics, heretics, and those who wish to influence you to their own ends. This existence sets you apart from other mortals, making your path as treacherous as it is prestigious.

Feature: Divine Authority

As a divine emissary, you command respect among believers and have a large degree of influence within religious circles. You can perform religious ceremonies in your deity's name, and you are often recognized by the faithful who might aid you in your divine tasks or bring you a variety of gifts, sacrifices, or tithes.

Additionally, you can typically gain access to resources related to your deity, such as the use of temples and libraries, or receive counsel from high-ranking clergy members. Nobles, scholars, and mages might also take a particular interest in you, many times trying to influence you to their own ends.

Furthermore, few people are bold enough to request payment from a Divine Emissary and as such, it's unlikely that anyone who is aware of who you are will ask you to pay for most basic goods and services.
