All of your life you’ve studied the magical arts. Your mystical talent has earned you an invitation to join the secretive organization known as the Sentinel Mages, which you accepted. The sentinels are the eyes and ears of the Republic. Each member is an operative trained in the arts of espionage. Your mission is simple; Keep the Sentinels informed as to the state of the Republic, her enemies, and to eliminate threats both internal and external; Covertly, if possible.
- Skill Proficiencies: Investigate, Deception
- Tool Proficiencies:
- Thieves’ Tools, Disguise Kit
- Languages:
- Choose two from the following: Gurgrek, Velmeran, Solaktan and Norkandic
- Equipment: A bottle of black ink, a quill, a small knife, 10 sheets of parchment, a set of traveler’s clothes, a belt pouch, thieves’ tools, disguise kit, and a sentinel’s brazier
Feature: Lorethos, please advise
The sentinel is never without the support of headquarters back home in Lorethos. The palm-sized brazier they carry with them is a covert means of communicating with HQ. Any missive the sentinel writes on parchment and then burns within the brazier is sent to HQ. However, the sentinel must remain present for the response (which typically takes an hour or more), as the ashes within the brazier reform with the reply. As such, a sentinel must take care the ashes are not disturbed.
Suggested Characteristics
Sentinels are secretive by the very nature of their job. They only reveal their true identity and purpose when absolutely necessary. That being said, their personalities are as varied as their choice in spells. Some favor complete anonymity, while others take on a boisterous persona to alleviate suspicion of their true goal. Below are some suggested characteristics, but feel to come up with unique traits of your own that better fit your character design.
