Living along the coast you have based much of your schedule on the tides, because of this you may have habits that are time dependent, such as traveling during low tide and scavenging for food during high tide.  Most of your social experience comes from your time in the water and with coastal species, this may leave you a little unprepared for inland life.  You may have dealt with pirates, merfolk, or other aquatic races often and have picked up on some of their customs.
