Before your time as a great adventurer, you were but a humble translator. Taking documents from one language and changing them another, this unique position has given you lots of knowledge about many subjects and trades.
- Skill Proficiencies: Depending on what and or who you translated for you have a different set of skills that come from the texts you've had to understand and localize. However, you translated for either a business or rich noble, making you a business translator, giving you proficiencies in Investigation, Insight, and Perception.
- Tool Proficiencies: Your work gave you gracious handwork, giving you proficiencies with Calligrapher's tools and Cartographer's tools.
- Languages: You were constantly surrounded by different languages from different parts of the world, giving you proficiencies in Common and 4 languages of players choice (at DM's discretion).
- Equipment: You left work on good financial terms so have a neat packing list. Start with an Adventurer's Pack, a set of fine pens, a blank notebook, and a pouch of 10 Gold Pieces.
Feature: Linguistic Eyes
Once per long rest you may use this feat and act as if you were under the effect of the spell Comprehend Languages, regardless of your class. However, if you use this feat to comprehend a language you are already proficient with, you may understand a hidden message in the text not apparent in the literal meaning of the words.
Suggested Characteristics
Suggested characteristics of a Business Translator should be aligned with that of hard work and loyalty, but not inherently honesty.
