You are a Martial Artist. The epitome of combat mastery. Martial Artists come from all walks of life. Whether they be villain or hero, a Martial Artist's greatest asset is their self-discipline. You have trained under a master, and through whatever your backstory is, you are of age and out on a warrior's pilgrimage to master and improve your martial arts skills. You are not tied down by religion or a monk's code of ethics. You can come from a Martial School, Sect, or Organization, be a brawler or street-fighter that no one has heard of, scion of a famous Martial Arts master, and a boxer in the ring, but at the end of the day, you are one who pursues the martial path. The path of a warrior.
