Dragon Knight

You are a Knight trained and blessed by a dragon, usually by Chromatic or Metallic Dragons. You could be a noble knight upholding the principles of your dragon master, aiding those in need, or combat the evil in this world. Or you have sworn fealty to a chromatic dragon, aiding them in their plans of destruction or leading their minions in battle.

Work with your DM to come up with how much authority and reputation the Dragon Knight titles hold and how much influence they have in the daily lives of the world's inhabitants and the political going-ons. A title doesn’t stand on its own—it’s connected to a dragon, and despite you being a knight and may be considered nobility, your title cannot be inherited by your children, the dragon you serve decides who they grand their patronage. You should also work with the DM to describe your dragon master and their influence on you.

Is your dragon master a benevolent creature that inspires you or a group of people to help and guide the inhabitants of this world? Is your dragon master an evil mastermind that uses you to infiltrate society? Or is your relation to your dragon master one of convenience, did you barter your powers from him and you only have a loose affiliation to him.

What’s your position under your dragon master? Are you his sole knight, an extension of his will, or your part of a group or even an order of Knights swearing fealty to the same dragon? Are you still a squire with little influence or are you already an established member of your dragon's knightly court?

Does your dragon master have a coat of arms? An insignia you might wear on a signet ring? Particular colors do you wear all the time?

These details help establish your Order and your titles as features of the world of the campaign.

A knighthood is among the lowest noble titles in most societies, but it can be a path to a higher status, at least people will assume you keep your word because of your knightly appearance. If you wish to be a Dragon Knight, you gain the Dragons Blessing feature. You will receive a magical amulet or ring, which has ornaments representing your dragon. This item can never be removed from your body, only in death will it come loose from your body but it also loses all its magical properties if you die. It is a symbol of your dragon's master's trust and blessings and lets you channel the powers bestowed by your dragon master.

The GM can also grant you an appropriate Draconic Gift Feat, like Gift of the Chromatic Dragon or Gift of the Metallic Dragon.

A dragon knight has formed some form of bond with his Dragon Master. Generally, they serve them directly in some way and have similar character attributes, for example, Dragon Knights of a gold dragon often recoil from evil and seek to destroy it wherever it manifests, while servants of a green dragon often are scheming individuals that seek to saw chaos and mistrust.
