Floodling

You came into this world on a winter solstice night on shores battered by ravenous waves. Your birth was preceded and succeeded by incredible thunderstorms and floods, a testament to Aedro's might. By bearing Aedro's blessing in both soul and body, you are referred to by others as a floodling and your have your people's reverence and respect for. From a young age, you exhibited a natural affinity for Aedro's domain. The tempestuous sea and the biting cold of winter are your allies, and you have an innate understanding of their rhythms and moods. 

Because of these innate powers, many ill-intentioned cultists or power-hungry leaders kidnap floodlings from their parents and claim them as wards, the fortunate ones at least. Many a floodling were indoctrinated to be little more than tools of warfare or influence, stripped of their identity. Eventually, some of them arise to the occasion and break from those shackles, but only some.

Floodling are recognizable from the Mark of Aedro, a body feature (usually a birthmark) that glows during floods or storms. Discuss with your DM what this mark looks like and where it is located on your body.

Equipment: A  holy symbol of Aedro, a whalebone ring that never tarnishes, a set of traveler's clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp.

Suggested Characteristics

A floodling is one of the common people, for better or for worse. Most floodlings look on their blessing as a responsibility to be used for good. Their devotion to Aedro and their home communities remain very important to them.
