You are a being of great cosmic power brought low--a god or celestial, a devil or a demon, or one of the innumerable horrors from the Outer Plane--that has now found itself bound to a mortal vessel. While you possess a vast reserve of knowledge and an uncanny presence, you are in many ways like a newborn fumbling its way through a world that is as alien to you as you are to it. You may be desperately searching for a way to undo what was done to you so that you can return to your previous state of nigh-omnipotent power or you may find unexpected pleasure in the novelty of your present circumstances and in the company of beings you might otherwise have considered far beneath you (if you had ever deigned to consider them at all.)
- Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, Intimidation
- Tool Proficiencies: Navigator's tools
- Languages: Choose one of Abyssal, Celestial, Deep Speech, Infernal, or Sylvan
- Equipment: A fragment of matter from your native plane, a planisphere, a set of navigator's tools, a set of traveling clothes, and a pouch containing 10g
To determine the nature of your cosmic origins, roll a d8 or choose from the options in the table below.
Though you can no longer dole out divine blessings or grant warlock pacts as you once did, you can still call on the devotion of your followers to feed, house, and shield you from the law or anyone else looking for you as long as you do not endanger them. Your followers may even perform safe, menial tasks for you or share information with you per the discretion of the DM.
Suggested Characteristics
The once powerful are defined by their alien nature, fascination with the ordinary, and a knowledge of things beyond mortal limits. They may struggle to connect with others as equals or even to convey thoughts using tongues that are not familiar to them.
