Runaway Cultist Image

You were once a devoted member of a secretive and sinister cult, serving a dark and malevolent entity that demanded absolute obedience. However, something within you stirred, and you couldn't ignore the growing doubts about the cult's practices and beliefs. The oppressive atmosphere, the cruelty of your fellow cultists, and the horrifying rituals eventually became too much to bear.

One fateful night, you seized the opportunity to escape the cult's clutches, slipping away under the cover of darkness. Fleeing into the unknown, you left behind your former life, including your old name and identity. You knew that the cult's fanatical members would stop at nothing to bring you back or eliminate you as a traitor.

Now, you are a runaway cultist, haunted by the memories of your time within the cult and the fear of retribution. You seek a new purpose in life, far from the cult's influence, and perhaps a way to make amends for the dark deeds you were forced to commit. Your past continues to shape you, but you are determined to forge a different path and find redemption or, at the very least, freedom from the cult's grasp.

Languages: You've learned Abyssal speak through the cult. You can also speak to demons and truly evil creatures.
Equipment: Ritual dagger.

**Name:** Dagger of Infernal Convergence

**Description:** The Dagger of Infernal Convergence is a sinister-looking weapon, its blade forged from dark, obsidian-like metal. Its hilt is adorned with wickedly curved spikes and crimson-hued gemstones that seem to pulse with malevolent energy. The pommel features a snarling demon's face, and the crossguard is shaped like outstretched, clawed wings.

**Stats:**
- **Weapon Type:** Dagger
- **Damage:** 1d4 piercing damage
- **Properties:** Finesse, light
- **Special Bonus:** The Dagger of Infernal Convergence has a unique ability called "Infernal Siphon." When you successfully strike a target with this dagger, you can choose to activate the Infernal Siphon as a bonus action. Upon activation, the dagger absorbs a portion of the target's life essence, healing you for 1d4 hit points. You can use this ability once per short rest.

**Curse:** However, the malevolent nature of the dagger comes with a dark curse. Once attuned to the Dagger of Infernal Convergence, it begins to influence the wielder's thoughts and desires. The dagger subtly encourages acts of cruelty and selfishness, making the wielder more prone to malevolent actions. The character may need to make Wisdom saving throws (DC 15) to resist these sinister inclinations over time.

**Roleplay Opportunities:** Players who wield the Dagger of Infernal Convergence must grapple with the temptation of its power and the moral dilemmas it presents. They may have to struggle against the dagger's corrupting influence and face consequences for their actions. The special bonus of life-draining can be both a boon and a curse, making it a weapon of great power and peril.
