Either by your own intent, mere chance or unfortunate kidnapping, you ended up for an uncertain amount of time in the Feywild, the magical and emotionally volatile realm of the faeries, where you served under one (or more) of its many noble houses, also known as Courts. You could have been an entertainer of sorts, a house agent sent to perform shady tasks, a confidant and advisor to or any other position which made you close to one of the fey rulers. But maybe the most important question is: who did you serve under? The Seelie or Unseelie Court? Or maybe a coven of hags down in the Feydark?
Now you are far away from the Feywild, maybe sent on a mission by your liege, maybe you have managed to escape from what you felt was just a colourful prison or maybe you are running away from fey prosecution (although knowing the mercurial fey as much as you do, it could be more than one of these reasons at the same time). Let's just hope the customs and mannerisms you acquired back in the realm of faeries and hags don't clash now that you have returned to a more "grounded" environment.
- Skill Proficiencies: Choose two from the following: Performance, Persuasion, Insight, Deception
- Tool Proficiencies: One musical instrument of your choice or alchemist's supplies
- Languages: Sylvan and one additional language of your choice
- Equipment: A set of fine clothes (the manufacturing of which depends on the court you served under), a pouch with precious gems worth 10gp and a token made from wood, amber, bones or other natural materials
Thanks to the feats you achieved during your time in the Feywild you have acquired yourself a certain reputation amongst its inhabitants both inside and outside of the plane (whether if it's good or bad can be decided by you or your DM). Whenever you are interacting with a fey creature you can invoke the name of your former liege, or recall some of your past feats, in order to sway or irritate your listener.
It's up to your DM to decide how this will influence your interactions with any fey creatures with whom you use this feature. As some examples, they may give you advantage or disadvantage for social checks or make the creature more lenient to help you or act against you.
You may still have contact with a fey creature from your time back as courtier and can reach them for help when you need it. This doesn't guarantee they will help you or if said help will even reach you in time. They could even send a little prank instead of the urgent help you need, such is the ever-changing mood of the Fey.
You have a little trinket with which you can contact your fey ally which allows to send messages across the planes to reach specifically the fey creature who produced it. This item could be an enchanted twig or leaf, a magical flower, a lock of hair, a nail, a teeth, etc. As an action you can speak a message while holding it (the length of which depends on your DM based on the power your ally imbued into the item) which will reach your fey ally in a similar way as with the Sending spell. Your ally can answer back if they want and will try, or not, to provide help in whichever way they see possible. The amount of time that will take for this "help" to reach you is up to your DM as the flow of time between the Feywild and the other planes is ever so changing.
