Instead of staying in large cities, towns and being in civilization, instead, you come from the wilderness. You have dedicated your life to animals of the wild and spend your time watching them and writing information in your journal about them, studying their behaviors, habitats, moods and social structures. You may specialize in one specific type of animal or you may look at every animal in a certain area in general. Nonetheless, you are often learning something new about these magnificent creatures and they never cease to amaze you.

You have a specialty in being able to tame creatures and understand how they learn. You have spent your entire life studying dragons and learning about them. You've seen the good, you've seen the bad and you understand them all at a good level. You have tracked these creatures most of your life and learn every little bit of information about them. In doing such, you can choose a specific type of dragon that you are best with and sought after most of your life, perhaps due to past experiences, and have advantage on tracking them, understanding them and dodging their attacks.
You can choose this if dragons are your choice animal or if you have taken the Variant of this background, the Dragon Slayer. You know dragons and you know how they work, a specific type of dragon above all else. You have advantage upon tracking them and perception checks if they are near, and cannot be surprised if they attack. You have advantage on avoiding their attacks as well as attacking them, since you have learned not just about their behavior, but how they hunt and defend, knowing the weak points in their body and how they move.
