When you are in a city, school, or other location with large amounts of magical information, you can spend a number of hours equal to 8 minus your Wisdom modifier to make an Arcana check with a DC of 15 (or 5 if you are in a magical school or guild) + a spell level for which you have spell slots. If you succeed the check, you you copy a spell of the chosen level into your spellbook. This spell is chosen at random or by the DM from your class's spell list at your level. If you succeed the check or after three failed attempts in the same location, you must wait 1d4 days before being able to try again in that location. You must be able to provide the materials necessary to copy the spell into your spellbook in order to use this ability.
