Game Shop Owner Image

You are a owner of a game shop, skilled in a particular field and closely associated with a variety of different types of games of entertainment, chance and otherwise. You are a well-established part of your local community, knowing whom most people around you are. You have a fair established knowledge of other game stores as well as some inside information on merchants that have good inventory for you to do business with. You may have employees that are people looking for work, family members or friends. Discuss with your DM what you need as far as money goes to see how much you need to deduct from your gold each month to keep your shop up and running.

You may also have a business partner as well whom brings in a well versed set of skills for a mutual benefit of success. Perhaps it was their money that got your business up and going. Or maybe they just truly believe in your vision of success and endorse you. You could look for sponsors for your shop or outsource to improve your shop if you have not already.

Guild Business

Game Shops are generally found in cities large enough to support several other businesses practicing the same trade. However, your shop might instead be a loose network of other game shops as well as possible other business establishment connections who each work in a different village within a larger realm. Work with your DM to determine the nature of your Game Shop, see what the narrative significance of this is. You can select your store's narrative significance from the Story Quirk table or roll randomly.

Feature: Guild Membership

As an established and perhaps respected member of your community, you can rely on certain benefits that this provides. You have access to strong discounts in other shops. This discount increases based on the renown of both you and your shop. You can also find with relative ease where the underbelly of business resides for shops that sell outlawed items and more.

You must pay a minimum of 250 gp per month to the local government for everything you must need to keep your shop up to par and running. If you miss payments, you must make up back dues for fines up to 1,500 gp. At which time the local governing law will begin measures to revoke your business and face penalties of the local laws.
