When a living creature is born, a soul is sent into that creature. On extremely rare instances when two creatures are born at the exact same moment, something can go wrong with that process, and a soul that was meant for one creature gets split into two halves, with each newborn creature receiving one of the halves. Splitaparts are keenly and constantly aware of a feeling of incompleteness. They are born with a directionless hunger and drive to find their (literal) missing half. Splitaparts are instantly able to recognize their matching Splitapart upon sight.

Soul Searching:
If you engage in a conversation with another intelligent creature with whom you share a spoken language for one full minute, you can learn insightful facts about them. Roll or choose one fact from the table below. Once you learn a piece of information, the subject of your soul searching must make a Wisdom Saving Throw with a DC equal to 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Charisma Modifier. On a success, they realize that you have been analyzing them. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all uses at the end of a long rest.

1. Their current Alignment.
2. Whether one of their Ability Scores is higher than, lower than, or equal to your same Ability Score.
3. Whether or not they are currently subjected to a condition, and what that condition is. For example: Charmed, Frightened, or Poisoned.
4. Whether or not their physical appearance has been modified by a skill, a magical effect, or an ability (though you do not discern what their original appearance is). For example: the use of a Disguise Kit, a Shifter's Shapechanger ability, or the spells Disguise Self, Alter Self, or Polymorph.

Becoming Whole:
If you are within 5 feet of your matching Splitapart on your turn, you may use a bonus action to touch your matching Splitapart and bestow a number of temporary hit points equal to 1d4 + your Proficiency Bonus to both you and your matching Splitapart. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all uses at the end of a long rest.
