Imagine what it would be like to be a kid in a world full of tales about magic, epic sword masters, mighty wizards and noble paladins, but also imagine what it would be like to know these aren’t fairy tales, these are (mostly) true tales of real people in your world. Like kids in our world grow up dreaming of being fighter pilots, astronauts, deep sea divers, etc, knowing that they could actually be one when they grow up, it’s easy to see how a child in a fantasy setting might grow up wanting to be a paladin, a swashbuckling sword master, powerful wizard, or daring rogue. In their world it is entirely plausible that it could happen, so some of them, again like kids in our world, might spend their entire lives doing whatever it takes to achieve their life long dream.

These kids are the Apprentice Adventurers.

You grew up in a world full of tales of epic heroes like Carver Whitesteel, Caidam Struth, Tommy Tenday, Queen Valkrya and other mighty heroes and have spent your whole life dreaming of being like them. Lucky for you, in your world, it is not only completely plausible that you could ACTUALLY become a powerful Wizard, noble Paladin, or famous Swordsman, you might have one or more parents or family members that used to or perhaps still do, live the life of an adventurer. For reasons of your own, you dedicated yourself to studying these people and learning the skills they used to succeed in their adventures. You may have had a renowned adventurer as a mentor or been entirely self taught, but either way, you have incredible insight into what it takes to be an adventurer and the key skills required to be successful at it. Some kids learned how to bake or sew like their parents, and your parents might have tried to teach you their trade, but you were too busy day dreaming about slaying dragons and rescuing princesses for any of it to take.

Skill Proficiencies: Survival, One of your choice
Tool Proficiencies: Cartographer's Tools, one tool set of your choice.
Equipment: One tool set of your choice, a grappling hook, 50' Hemp Rope, a book of your notes/or that of a family member/or possibly one you just found, 2 empty treasure sacks, a pouch with 5gp

Feature: Your name precedes you.

Your name may carry some weight behind it, be it good or bad, is in the eye of the beholder. Anytime you meet someone new, they may have heard of you in passing or may know an insane level of detail about your exploits and are eerily close to being groupies/ stalkers. The effects of this are at the DM’s discretion, but in most towns, it may lead to receiving free room and board of a modest to opulent level, but could also lead to strangers approaching you and asking for your help in matters as simple as delivering a message to finding a lost loved one to saving the entire town or even country.

Suggested Characteristics
