Men and women who travel the roads and brave the wilds in search of glory and their next meal. In their hearts burn the dreams and hopes that inspire legends and change the course of Fate. They are the lowest level of nobility, usually no more than one generation off the plow if they themselves are not fresh off of it themselves. They won their spurs by either some fearless or faithful deed...or via a favor owed to them or a family member by a higher noble.
- Skill Proficiencies: History, Persuasion
- Tool Proficiencies: One type of gaming set
- Languages: One of your choice
- Equipment: A set of fine clothes, a [Tooltip Not Found], a noble crest, and a purse containing 10 gp
Feature: Faithful Squire
You can accept as an apprentice a young boy or girl, usually aged 8 to 10 but sometimes younger if misfortune has forced them to look out for themselves. They aid you in camp tasks and looking after your belongings but must be properly treated or else they will leave your service. To train them and care for them is your oath as theirs is to serve loyally and obey. The best squires will follow you into the 9 Hells, but that is sadly where the best are lost before their time.
Suggested Characteristics
Hedge knights are the foundations of noble houses, if they're lucky enough to live to have children. They know rough living and scraping to survive better than anyone and enjoy just enough luxury because of their thin nobility to have it just slightly easier than a commoner in normal situations.
