You are a member of an ancient order dedicated to eradicating the monstrosities and evils that plague this realm. You have taken a bloody oath, trained mercilessly through the years, and have encountered unholy beasts the likes of which many cannot even fathom. There are few who have the iron resolve needed to keep composure and strategize against certain doom, but you were made for this.

Your loyalty is always to the order of course, but how deep your bond runs can depend on the nature of your connection to them. Were you born into a lineage of ghost hunters, perhaps resenting your birthright obligation? Did your many years of studying and tracking monsters lead to your eventual association with a fierce band of vampire slayers? Were you sought out for your proclivity towards eviscerating demon scourge whenever they cross your path? Whatever the case might be, you have been set on this dark path and it is up to you to define how you move forward as the mighty vanquisher you are.

Tool Proficiencies: Herbalism Kit and Smith's Tools
Languages: One of your choice
Equipment: A holy symbol (a protective ward granted to you when you entered the order), a prayer book or prayer wheel, holy water (flask), stake (wooden), vestments, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 15 gp.
 
Feature: Notorious Employ

As a vanquisher, any time you enter a city, whispers will begin of your ominous presence and what it must mean for the fate of their home. If commoners do not recognize your vanquisher vestments, they will at the very least sense in you an intimate knowledge of danger and death. They will either instinctively make distance between themselves and your party or they will do what they can to aid you in your mission through information or supplies to ensure you leave their city as quickly as possible.

 
Suggested Characteristics

Vanquishers are shaped by their experience in their Order and on their hunts. Their training within the Order, their studies of its history, its tenets, along with the monsters they hunt, and their relationships within or outside the Order affect their mannerisms and ideals. Their flaws might be some hidden hypocrisy or heretical idea, or an ideal or bond taken to an extreme.
