You are a wanderer, an adventurer who doesn’t call one place home. With little more than the clothes on your back, the things in your pack, and your wits, you’ve learned a wide array of skills, trades, and languages. You are also good at adapting to your situation, and can learn new things rather quickly.
*Note: I welcome any suggestions that would improve this. If you have issues, let me know in the comments.

Everyone has there reason’s for setting out on a journey, so what are yours? Perhaps you’re a running from the law, or from a past you’d rather forget. Maybe you set out on a quest, maybe for knowledge, power, or something else. Maybe the life called to you, and you gave in to the wanderlust. Or perhaps you travel for reasons even you don’t understand.
d8 | Reasons for Traveling |
---|---|
1 | I am on the run for something I did |
2 | I’m traveling just to see what’s out there! |
3 | I’ve forgotten why I started this journey, but keep going anyway |
4 | I am trying to find something important |
5 | I seek wealths of knowledge |
6 | I felt the call of adventure and haven’t looked back |
7 | I lost someone close, and home never felt the same afterward |
8 | I completed a pilgrimage, and fell in love with the road |
In your travels, you’ve become rather good at picking up new skills. If you are not Proficient with a Tool(ex: Tinkerer’s Tools), Instrument(ex: Drums), Skill(ex: Arcana), or a Weapon(ex: Short-sword), you may use a Long Rest to practice with it. Once the long rest is complete, roll a d100 to determine if you successfully gained Proficiency, with DM determining the number needed to succeed. The DM can also say if multiple Rests may be needed in order to gain Proficiency.
If you are learning a Skill, you may add the stat modifier to your roll(ex: Athletics is Strength-based). If there is a member of the party that is Proficient with the item, you have advantage when rolling the d100.
If you have less than half hit points, or more than 2 levels of Exhaustion, you have Disadvantage when rolling the d100. If both, then the roll is a guaranteed fail. The Rest does not remove Exhaustion, regardless of success.
If you want to become Proficient with a vehicle, you must take the Long Rest with the specific vehicle present (ex: You can practice with a ship if you rest on a ship)
