In the Valkyrion Region, characters are defined not just by their class but also by unique backgrounds that reflect the rich culture and diverse environment of the region. These backgrounds provide characters with specific skills, proficiencies, and starting equipment that align with the Valkyrion Region's Pokemon-themed setting. Valkyrion Specific Backgrounds:

Rune Carver

• Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, History
• Tool Proficiencies: Woodcarver's tools, vehicles (land)
• Equipment: Set of rune stones, carver's tools, a book on rune lore, a belt pouch containing 15 gp
• Feature: Can detect the presence of magical runes and enchantments within a short distance, and once per long rest, can invoke a rune for a minor magical effect related to the rune's meaning.

Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, History

Tool Proficiencies: Woodcarver's tools, vehicles (land)

Languages: Primordial, Celestial, or Infernal (Choose 1)

Equipment: Set of rune stones, carver's tools, a book on rune lore, a belt pouch containing 15 gp
