Since an early age, your home has been uninhabited. Whether it was a horde of raiders, a natural disaster, or an unknown event shrouded in mystery, the town where you grew up was ruined; its population either left, went missing, or died, with the curious exception of you. For years, you lived within a ghost town, making use of whatever resources remained serviceable and scrounging knowledge from the few books and structures that hadn't been reduced to nothing. Perhaps you want to rebuild the town, perhaps you seek vengeance against those who destroyed it, or perhaps you treat your former residence with disdain and desire simply to distance yourself from it.
- Skill Proficiencies: Survival, one of your choice
- Tool Proficiencies: One type of artisan’s tools
- Languages: One of your choice
- Equipment: A trinket with the name of your hometown, a set of common clothes, a set of artisan's tools, and 15 gp
Through years of living amongst remnants, you've become skillful at seeing what once was. Whenever you look at a dilapidated or non-functioning building or item, you gain a decent understanding of how was used and interacted with when it was at its prime. In addition, at the DM's discretion, you may be able to piece together one secret about the ruins.
Suggested Characteristics
