If you win you are immune to being frightened by the creature unless it does so with a particularly surprising action.

If you fail you become frightened for as lang as the creature is within your line of sight.

Other creatures that are friendly to you can take an action to try to calm you down they have advantage if the canine creature is friendly to you. For creatures that are large or larger advantage is impossible. To calm you down they must succeed on a persuasion throw, the DC depending on the creature’s size.
