You are (or were) a member of a religious order devoted to Avandra, the Changebringer. Wanderers include missionaries and lay ministers as well as clerics and paladins, and they tend wayshrines, gardens, inns, and houses of healing anywhere worship of the Changebringer is permitted. They offer their services to travelers, adventurers, and refugees regardless of faith or allegiance, and can be found manning small outpost-like shrines along remote stretches of road far from other areas of civilization.

Skill Proficiencies: Religion, choice of Medicine or Nature
Languages: Two of your choice
Equipment: A holy symbol of Avandra, a healer's kit or herbalism kit, a detailed map of the area around the outpost you tended, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 15 gp.

Feature: Rest for the Weary

You know the kinds of areas where Wanderers set up their outposts, and can locate one without having to roll a check if you are within half a day's travel of it. You and your companions can receive free room, board, and healing at any Wanderer outpost, provided you are still in good standing with the order, though you must provide any costly material components for spells. You may also purchase supplies at a discounted rate.

You may also have ties to the outpost (or outposts) you have tended in the past. Perhaps you became close with a fellow Wanderer who still serves there, or you still maintain a residence in or near the shrine. Any Wanderers there will happily fill you in on any noteworthy events that have transpired in the area in your absence.

Suggested Characteristics

Acolytes are shaped by their experience in temples or other religious communities. Their study of the history and tenets of their faith and their relationships to temples, shrines, or hierarchies affect their mannerisms and ideals. Their flaws might be some hidden hypocrisy or heretical idea, or an ideal or bond taken to an extreme.
