Your birth came as a shock to your parents. You are of a race completely different from your family. Hidden and isolated for most of your life, you have grown strange for lack of socialization, but proficient at remaining unnoticed. 

Your parents are High Elves and when you were born they were horrified to find your appearance to be completely other. They believed you to be cursed and a shameful mark on the family. All the servants and the midwives were sworn to secrecy. Your siblings knew you only as “that thing”, “that creature”, etc. You went mostly uneducated, besides eavesdropping on your siblings with their tutors. 

A trusted friend of your parents knew about you and took…an interest. And one day, your parents sold you to them. Whatever happened next is up to you, but you survived it. And you escaped…eventually. 

After your escape you survived by grit and will alone. You may have eventually been found by a group or made it on your own.
