Throughout your life, you have been intrigued by the workings of the world, the multiverse, and magic itself. During your attempts to expand your knowledge beyond books, scrolls, and lectures from many different experts in fields of history, arcana, and more, you explored out into the world of fiends to learn more about them. During your studies, you stumbled into the cult of a major Fiend, and found yourself involved in a summoning ritual. When the Fiend was summoned, it cast its power out among the cultists, and caused a deadly frenzy that only you left alive. From that point on, you have been marked by the Fiend who destroyed the cult, chosen for unknown reasons.
You’ve tried to bury it and run away from it, to no avail. His presence haunts you wherever you go. It might come to you as a shadow on the wall, a bloodcurdling nightmare or a demonic whisper in the dark. The burden has taken its toll, isolating you from most people and making you question your sanity. You don't know yet what the Fiend wants from you, but you are sure that when they come calling, everyone around you will be in danger.

Feature: Researcher
When you attempt to learn or recall a piece of lore, if you do not know that information, you often know where and from whom you can obtain it. Usually, this information comes from a library, scriptorium, university, or a sage or other learned person or creature. Your DM might rule that the knowledge you seek is secreted away in an almost inaccessible place, or that it simply cannot be found. Unearthing the deepest secrets of the multiverse can require an adventure or even a whole campaign.
