On Uscen ships, a good mechanic is highly respected. Captains will seek them out, offering the best bunks and high rewards, and the rest of the crew is happy to see it happen - they know that the mechanic can keep them above the waves when trouble arrives. For the mechanic, it might be about the rewards, or the respect… or it might just be that there is nothing in the world more pleasing than the tick tick tack of clockwork running in perfect harmony.

- Equipment: A set of artisan’s tools with which you are proficient, a maker’s mark chisel used to mark your handiwork with your symbol, a set of traveler’s clothes, and a pouch containing 5 gp and a gem worth 10 gp.
Your knowledge of mechanisms applies even when you’ve never seen this machine before. You have advantage on checks made to understand, bypass, operate, or otherwise interact with mechanisms - from traps to vehicles to the mysterious ruined machines of Hak’kon. Additionally, when you craft an item using a tool with which you have Tool Proficiency, the required crafting time is reduced by 20 percent.
