Refugee Of The Mourning Image

You are among the unfortunate souls whose homeland was lost on the Day of Mourning. With Cyre washed away in the Dead-Gray Mist, everything you had and everything you knew was taken from you. Now you must find a new way to survive.

 
Skill Proficiencies: You gain proficiency in Survival and one skill of your choosing.
Tool Proficiencies: You gain proficiency with one gaming set and one tool of your choosing, having done what you need to for your sanity and your survival.
Equipment: A set of artisan’s tools (one of your choice), a gaming set (one of your choice), an waterskin, a set of common clothes, a backpack, a small knife, and either a club or a quarterstaff.
 
Refugee's Escape

You somehow managed to survive the Day of Mourning, but how you managed it is no minor detail. Using the following table, either roll to randomly decide how you escaped the fate of the rest of Cyre, or select one. The option chosen will help determine both what you did prior to the Day of Mourning, and what allowed you to make it out of Cyre alive.

1 I was traveling outside of Cyre during the Day of Mourning, and heard the news second hand.
2 I was on the outskirts of Cyre and narrowly escaped the Dead-Gray Mist as it spread.
3 I took shelter in the outskirts of Cyre and managed to find my way through a thin wall of the Dead-Gray Mist when it stopped spreading.
4 The spreading Dead-Gray Mist pushed me to its edge and I was found just beyond it.
5 I was magically transported as the Mourning came, I saw the mist behind me as I arrived at my destination.
6 I was aboard an airship that was pushed to the edge of the Dead-Gray Mist as it consumed Cyre.
7 I was on a lengthy voyage and returned to Cyre's border after it was lost to the Mourning.
8 The mist came as I was returning to Cyre, it almost caught me, but I was near enough to the border that I was not lost.
9 A mysterious message urged me to leave Cyre. The day after I did, the Mourning came.
10 I was engulfed in the Mist. I still don't know how I got out.
 
Feature: Survivor of the Mourning

Because of the great tragedy of Cyre, the people of the world take pity upon your plight and sympathize with your loss. Anywhere you go, people look on you with remorse for the day your mere survival symbolizes. People are more likely to offer you shelter, aid, food, or other such needs during your travels, and any who feel tied to the loss you've suffered will be more trusting of you as a fellow survivor.

1 The loss of my homeland has left me bitter and paranoid, never knowing who I can trust.
2 I grieve those I've lost constantly, and find it hard to form new bonds for fear of losing them, too.
3 I was somehow spared the fate of my country, and now it is my duty to carry on its memory.

5 My memories of my homeland bring me great sorrow and I don't like to speak of it.

1 I will find out what caused the mourning. If it was a person or a group, I will end them as they ended my past life, even if it costs me all I have left.

3 I am traumatized by the losses I suffered, and now my sleep is constantly interrupted by nightmares of it.

5 Cyre deserved what it got, and I have little sympathy for other survivors.
