Sylvanas is a NPC from a video game very similar to dnd, called world of Warcraft. She was the elf ranger general of a city called Silvermoon, until the Lich king Arthus killed her and turned her into the banshee Queen. She eventually becomes the war chief of the horde. Later on, you find out she is secretly working for a bad guy called the Jailer. Anyways, this background is set in the same world. World of Warcraft's main planet is called Azeroth, which is where this story takes place. When you choose this background, decide with your DM if you'll follow the warcraft storyline and have Sylvanas secretly working with the jailer, or decide to ignore that part and pretend Sylvanas isn't working with him. In this background you play as a spy for sylvanas, secretly going on Missions for her. You pretend to be part of the alliance (one of the two sides). Warning: Orcs are part of the horde, no half orcs for this background, please. (sorry!) I would recommend choosing some kind of elf, since Sylvanas was an elf, but you can do whatever you want. You can choose orc or half orc if you wish, but I would recommend an elf character. -PN
