Royal Of A Time Forgotten Image

You are the sole surviving child of the Arlen Empire Royal family that has been long since forgotten. The Arlen Empire fell to ruin many millennia ago and you are the sole survivor of it. Your father made a deal with a cult that followed Omori to gain immortality for himself and his family at the price of converting his empire to follow that dark god. Your father went back on the deal after they gave his family immortality and waged war on them instead, to wipe them out so they wouldn't raise another immortal. The battle was swift and your empire was victorious, but in breaking the promise with the cult your empire was then cursed to be destroyed. It started the same year, crops and cattle died, citizens became sick and bedridden, and trade with other nations was halted, the people knew something was wrong and blamed the Royal family for failing them. The citizens banded together and usurped the Royal family, knowing that they were immortal they sealed them in a tomb deep underground devoid of anything that would free them.

After many millennia imprisoned underground, you have finally been freed, but you are alone, with no family, and no followers. It is up to you to spread the name of your forgotten empire and bring it back to its unrivaled glory.

Suggested Characteristics

Nobles are born and raised to a very different lifestyle than most people ever experience, and their personalities reflect that upbringing. A noble title comes with a plethora of bonds—responsibilities to family, to other nobles (including the sovereign), to the people entrusted to the family’s care, or even to the title itself. But this responsibility is often a good way to undermine a noble.

Feature: Position of Privilege

Due to your kingdom having been destroyed and wiped from history, you have no actual power despite your lineage. Despite this because of your demeanor and overall Royal aura, people can sense that you are someone of great status and power, they typically tend to treat you with a greater modicum of respect and think the best of you. You are accepted by other members of high society to an extent and people generally just assume that you have the right to be wherever you are. The common folk make every effort to accommodate you and avoid your displeasure as long as they don't harbor ill will toward Royals and Nobles. You are treated like a lesser by some royalty based on the fact your kingdom no longer exists but you can secure an audience with most local nobles if needed.

Additionally, due to your lineage and position, you have the rare right to bestow titles to those you see fit. If you deem someone worthy to be given a title, you can formally proclaim them as your choice of title over a long rest. Once your kingdom has been reestablished the title will be formally recognized but until then those who you bestow titles upon are only recognized by you and your fellow followers, and sometimes other nobles. Some examples of titles in order of higher to lower: Grand Duke/Duchess, Archduke/Archduchess, Duke/Duchess, Marquess/Marchioness, Count/Earl/Countess, Viscount/Viscountess, Baron/Baroness, Knight/Dame, Lord/Lady.
