Burden of the Damned

As a Compelled, your mission drives you forward. You possess a pseudophylactery representative of or crucial to your mission. 

A Compelled may have more than one Pseudophylactery. Destroying all of a Compelled's Pseudophylacteries will result in their final death. If a Compelled dies and at least one of their Pseudophylacteries is intact, they revive in their original body after 1d4+3 hours. A Pseudophylactery is highly individual and may come with it's own banes or boons.

You have authored a document, written in common, with some form of crucial information for your mission.

While this is your primary Pseudophylactery, you gain the following benefits:

• Replicabe: You can create an additional copy of your Pseudophylactery by succeeding on a flat intelligence check (DC 17) so long as you have the required components. (Parchment or Paper, Ink, and a Diamond or the equivalent value in Gold. Consumed upon attempt.) This can be attempted once per long rest, and the copy can be in any language you are able to read and write in.

You also suffer the following consequences:

• Pseudonym: The name you go by now is merely a cover for your true name, the name you originally signed your documents with. If your Pseudophylactery winds up in the hands of a creature who can read it, they learn this name. You have disadvantage to resist being charmed if your true name is invoked. Additionally, you have disadvantage to counter persuasion and intimidation checks if your true name is invoked.
