The Wandering Shores Background was created for the semi-episodic campaign, Wandering Shores. The intent is to provide more customization to characters, rather than locking them into specific boxes they are able to craft a Background around who their character is, including choosing a Feat rather than being locked into a pre-written (often useless) Feature.

Skill Proficiencies: Choose two Skills. Your character gains Proficiency in them.

 

Tool Proficiencies: Choose one tool, game set, or instrument. Your character gains Proficiency with it.

 

Languages: Choose one language. Your character knows that language. (Rare/Exotic languages require DM approval, be sure the language you have selected exists in the setting for your adventure.)

 

Equipment: A set of common clothes, a set of adventurer's clothes, two daggers, a money pouch with 15 gold pieces, a blank book, a set of artisan's tools (one of your choice), and an item or object of personal significance.
