You have lived most, if not all, of your life deep in the Bayou. To most, the world you called home is as alien as the Nine Hells or the Abyss itself.. Killer diseases, extreme climate, poisonous reptiles, and gators so big they'd put a horse to shame, all of these you had to cope with as a part of your daily existence. Even though you may have left the swamps, they are very much alive in you, be in the contented smile on your face when you think of those leasurley days fishing for crawfish or your inability to enter a body of water without panicking.
- Skill Proficiencies: Survival, perception
- Tool Proficiencies: Herbalism kit OR Lute Proficiency (Banjo), vehicles (water)
- Equipment: A set of common clothes, fishing tackle, an herbalism kit, a memento from the swamps, (such as a pouch of psychedelic herbs, a living frog, a dagger made out of an unknown animal tooth, a specimen of a plant you have never seen another specimen of, or roll on the trinket table), a makeshift lantern composed of dozens of shards of multicolored glass, and a pouch containing 5 gp
Feature: Where are we? I think I got a cousin 'round here.
You come from an indeterminately large family that you can call upon in times of need. In every settlement of fair size you travel through, you have one or more cousins that you can appeal to for aid. They are more than willing to give you and your companions whatever aid they can, be it food, lodging, hiding you from the local authorities, or using their position to help you attain your goals. Most of them would be willing to fight for you or die if need be. However, every family has a bad seed, so beware! Lest you misplace your trust.
Suggested Characteristics
The Swamp Folk are among the roughest and most closed off people out there. Their tolerance is hard won, their trust even harder, but no surer friend can you find than one of these hardy folk.
