You were once a benevolent celestial tasked with watching over the mortal world. Upon approval from your creator, you are then sent down to earth in your newly humanoid form. This humanoid form comes adorned with features taken directly from the cosmos. Celestial beings come in all shapes, sizes, and colors due to their formlessness within the Heavens. However, typically, earth-bound Celestials have skin that is iridescent with constellations freckled about their bodies. Their hair looks as though it was cut from the cloth of the universe itself. And their eyes are silver and white, shining so brightly that they give off their own light. It is difficult for other humanoids to look at you directly because of this.
However, over time, you grew disillusioned with the constant strife and negativity. Witnessing the evils mortals inflict upon themselves and the world fueled a growing cynicism. You came to believe that true order could only be achieved through forceful control. Perhaps a traumatic event involving a mortal you cared for solidified this resolve.
- Skill Proficiencies: History, Intimidation (to inspire fear and compliance)
- Languages: Celestial, Abyssal (to commune with demons who may offer power in exchange for service)
- Equipment:
- You haven't yet needed earthly possessions, however you begin your endeavors with 10 x 1d20 gold.
Your touch holds a corrupted echo of your celestial power. As an action, you can reach out and touch a willing creature within 5 feet. The creature must make a Constitution saving throw against a DC equal to 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus.
-
On a Success: The creature experiences a momentary pang of searing pain as your touch purges any minor ailments or curses plaguing them. However, a faint taint lingers. They gain a distrust of positive energy and a temporary vulnerability to radiant damage for 1 hour. Additionally, they feel a surge of loyalty towards you, bordering on obsession. They become more susceptible to your suggestions, which could be manipulated to serve your own agendas.
-
On a Failure: The creature screams in agony as your tainted touch burns through their defenses. They take 1d6 necrotic damage and suffer the same effects as if they succeeded on the saving throw (distrust of positive energy, vulnerability to radiant damage, and obsessive loyalty).
