As an active employee of Morticorp, your paycheck depends on the amount of deaths you officiated this month. Everything is profitable, even a family in mourning, to not reap the benefits is to lay to rest the security the company provides. Pad your bottom line and you'll stay above the ground, do well enough and an ascension in the ranks may be in your fated future. Don't hit your quota and the next soul you process may be your own. You gain benefits such as company protection, an expanded budget, a certain number of ignored or serviced revivifications or even a guaranteed cloning upon death depending on your rank, which fluctuates depending on how well you do your job.
- Skill Proficiencies: Choose two from Persuasion, Deception, Medicine, Arcana, and Nature
- Tool Proficiencies: Calligrapher's supplies, and a Morticorp Souldealer set of your choice
- Languages: Two of your choice
- Equipment: A Morticorp Souldealer Set, a writing kit (small pouch with a quill, a bottle of ink, folded parchment, and a small penknife), a Class A, B, or C Necrotechnical License and Stamp, And a Class A, B, or C Morticorp Company Card
At the end of each week, you are allotted a paycheck for sending souls to the company or for processing souls, with bonuses dependent upon your Morticorp Company Card level. Your company Card also grants you access to certain morgues and company facilities, grants discounts at certain retailers and hotels, and grants the ability to revive without committing Life Evasion.
A C-level Card grants you the ability to save a dying individual via healing or spare the dying, or perform or witness the purchasing of a basic Revivify. A B-level Card grants you the ability to perform or witness the purchasing of a Raise Dead or other means of basic resurrection. And an A-level card grants you the ability to witness the purchasing of a Resurrection or a True Resurrection.
If you fail to meet your weekly quota for either sending or processing souls you may be demoted, if you exceed you may be promoted. If you are demoted too far, especially too quickly, you may be deemed more profitable as merchandise than a seller.
You must be a Morticorp Agent to take this feature
As an Agent of Morticorp you also handle any requests as to the processing of souls such as revival and a requested method, annihilation, releasing of the soul as an item, or some other method requested by customers. Occasionally a customer will not have enough insurance or money to pay for the requested service, in which case they would normally be turned away. Very rarely, a customer will request to apply for a Styx Clause. This is a customer's right to gamble with a Morticorp Agent in a Soul Gambit, the reward of winning being their request to be put through immediately with no need to pay the remaining fees.
Whenever a customer initiates a Soul Gambit after the paperwork for the Styx Clause has been released, you take 10 minutes to create a magic circle and start with a game of the Agent, the Dealer's, choice. You put on the line what the customer's request was and the customer must put something on the line of equal or greater value. If the customer puts something on the table of greater value you may have to put something else on the scales such as money back, or worse your worldly possessions, to even the scale. If you win the gambit you gain the rewards of the Gambit, of which 80% of all profits go to Morticorp, 20% you may keep personally. If you lose the gambit you must process their reward no matter how large.
