Vampire Orphan Image

After you joined the ranks of the undead, the person who brought you back met their untimely end leaving with no one to teach you how things are generally done in the afterlife. Without someone to instruct them on how to hunt or how to use their newfound powers, new vampires have a very short (un)life expectancy often at the hands of a vampire hunter or an angry mob, but somehow you managed to be one of the few to survive.

What was your relationship to your creator? Did you hate them or did you even know them? Do you see their death as being a bad thing which resulted in you being ill prepared for the dangers of the world? Or did you see this as gaining your independence? What did you do to survive since your creator’s death? Do you try to fit back in to your old life? Or do you survive on the fringes of civilization taking what you can?

Suggested Characteristics

Orphaned vampires, lacking many of the social ties of other vampires, find benefits in the adventuring as a way to hone their skills, develop ties with people who might be social outcasts themselves, and feed on enemies with little consequence. Parties of people who are already shunned by most normal societies make great places for orphaned vampires since, presumably, the people in the party are less likely to be judgmental (due to they themselves already having to deal with the stigma of being seen as evil or monsters) and said groups often don’t mind having another person on their side.
